Stephen Lucas, MD (retired)
Dr. Lucas is trained and Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and in Allergy/Clinical Immunology. He joined Athens Pulmonary in 1983. In addition to his clinical activities at Athens Pulmonary, he has been involved in teaching at the Medical College of Georgia/University of Georgia Medical Partnership since it opened in 2010. He is very interested in the development of an inpatient teaching program at the Athens hospitals that will help train medical students and postgraduate physicians (interns and residents in the old terminology). He remains, though, committed to what he has always been his main interest--the practice of medicine, one patient at a time. After 40 years with Athens Pulmonary, Dr. Lucas retired in June 2023.
